Sunday's reflection notes....

Jonah 2:7
Today I'm coming out of this ALIVE

Have you ever made a bad decision?

God transformed you and your bad decision. God wants you to live a little longer. He wants you to experience his grace. You CANT experience that unless you go through a bad decision that can almost take you out.

Our decision making is a narration of our destination. God can transform you on the way. God doesn't have to destroy you to develop you.

We can't experience his grace unless we make a bad decision.

Every baker knows that batter is not the cake. It may taste good-- but that's not the cake. Whatever you're experiencing,  praise God for the batter. Cakes are developed in HEAT 🔥 the more heat, the more development.

Jonah had to learn that God is not a mean father. God wanted to develop him through a storm. The storm was not trying to destroy Jonah, it was trying to develop him to get closer to GOD.

God will recalculate your roots for a time out of prayer.

Don't wait for your break through, praise him RIGHT now. Let everything that has breath  praise the LORD. Even though you haven't heard from him....he still should hear from you.

He's about to open a door 🙏🏽 walk through it!

Vintage + Thrifting = Happiness

So lately my girl D and I have been going thrifting every first Saturday of the month!  It has been an amazing experience and I have purchased a ton of stuff.  Normally, I would spend around $20 bucks on just one shirt at the mall… but when I visit the thrift store, I can get about 6 shirts for that price!  AHHH so amazing.  Here are some of my tips when going thrifting…

Clear out your schedule for the entire morning/mid afternoon

Eat breakfast before you go

Carry a light purse to have your hands free

Go with a friend and know each other taste in clothes!  Saves time

Try items on if you can and take a nice bath afterwards haha

Plan out outfits, be unique and vintage with your styles

Wash the clothes immediately after your $plurging

Check out the outfits that I have purchased already from the Goodwill!  Stayed tuned for more

Make ur NEXT STOP-  the Thrift shop : - )

Ouch

Growing pains

I was having a discussion with someone recently and realized that I will be 28  this year. I think that is a very young age, however I think it is an appropriate age for growth. I realized that I am not into the things that I used to be into and I don't want to associate myself with people who are stuck in chapters that I have moved on or trying to move away from. I think it becomes challenging when you grow up with your close friends and are used to engaging in things that have been done in the past years (clubbing, strip clubs, being disfunctionally intoxicated etc). I am not perfect, and I don't expect perfection but I am at the age where I strive to eliminate distractions. I want people in my circle to help me grow and I expect the people around me to want the same for themselves.

When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put the ways of childhood behind me. 1 Corinthians 13:11.

What things are preventing your growth? Who is in your circle that is causing you to engage in wordly activities? What distractions are hurting your relationship? My goal is to be closer to Jesus! Pray for me and I will pray for you ❤️

I wrote this post last month..oops!

Be a light in this dark world.

Have you ever wondered why someone just doesn't like you? Or why you aren't close with someone that you once were close with? It's funny because in life we face many chapters and seasons and during those chapters of your life you realize who is supposed to be in your life long term and who was simply a seasonal person. Remember, whatever happens happens and you're right where you're supposed to be. God created you perfectly!

Getting fit

Well. Alex and I joined LA fitness. We both have been working extremely hard and have been in the gym faithfully. I can't wait to see the results from are hard work. Check this out.. I started selling make up, and it's been so much fun. I joined the business so I can learn more about different techniques to apply make up. I'm embarrassed to say but I've been wearing the same brands and products since I was 18! Woa lol

My cousins and I cruised  to Mexico for New Years 2016.  I had so much fun .We are planning to make it an annual trip all together.  SO glad to have cousins that I am close with.

Alex and I celebrated 1 year although we've been hanging and "talking" way longer than a year it's been a fun fun adventure. We will continue to seek God and put him first! Without him, our relationship will not prosper.  Proverbs 3:6

Please comment and tell me your highs and lows?  I would love to hear from you.

It's a wrap 2015

Hola amigos!  Happy New year to you!!!! I am currently reflecting 2015 and the ups and downs that it has brought me. Overall, I can say that it has been a challenging but good year filled with much growth. The hardest thing about the end of 2014, going into 2015 was losing my best friend Alex Carrington Hobbs. I never imagined losing a close friend at such a young age but  it's encouraging to me that he is watching over me along with all his other family members and friends. He was such a blessing to many and he definitely touched many lives! We love you A!

Some of the positives that I would like to point out  is getting the opportunity to visit my friend (basically family) in Tokyo! That was such an amazing experience and I definitely want to go back. I love Jeni and David so much! When friends turn into family>.... because they have been in my life ever since I was a baby!

I  am proud of myself for getting back in school and working towards my license in Mental Health counseling. Honestly, I tried to avoid this field.. because of the amount of stress that it brings but God gives us a purpose while on this earth and I realized that helping individuals with their holistic health is my purpose!

Another highlight of 2015 is dating Alexander Nyirendah :) wow wiii. When I say God works in mysterious ways honey... God works! Lol. We both laugh because our relationship was totally unplanned and unthought of but God blessed us with a special connection that I have yet to experience with any person. We both connect. We  help each other grow spiritually and mentally and that's important to have within a relationship. I love that fact that we go to church together and strive to be Christ like in such a dark world. I also enjoy his spontaneous always on the go personality! He always has a date or event planned and if you know me.. I function well with planned fun events! It's extremely therapeutic to have a social life and fun events planned in your life... We call that self care in the mental health field world ;)  I am forever grateful for him and Noah.. they have brought lots of happiness and Joy in my life.

I can't forget about nephew being born. WHY IS HE SOOOOO CUTE!? I seriously love him and Lilly so much. They are my bestie.. and they know it ;)

Something fun that I did this year was model for local clothing boutiques.. Never imagined doing that but a friend wanted me to help her and I ended up loving it. It's a great feeling for a girl to get glam by dressing up and getting pretty and that's exactly why I do it. I also enjoy meeting new girls and getting to know them!

Quick goals in 2016:

 Grow spiritually

Volunteer more

Eliminate distractions

Stay tuned for details about my New Years vacation with My cousins! We cruised to Mexico ;) details to come.
